What is Headwaters Basecamp?

  • A mountain campground designed for quiet adventure and deep connection to Vermont’s forests and rivers

  • Part of the larger Headwaters Farm & Forest vision, stewarding the glacial spring headwaters of the Winooski River

  • A place to rest, explore, fill up your cup (literally) and gather around firelight under starry skies

    How many sites?

    • 3 raised tent platforms tucked into the woods

    • Each site thoughtfully spaced for privacy and immersion in nature

    What do we offer?

    • PYO (Pitch‑Your‑Own) Tents – bring your favorite tent or borrow one of our Big Agnes tents and camp comfortably on level ground

    • Ready‑made campfire rings, picnic tables, and shared water access

    • Trail access to meadows, forest paths, and hidden river spots

  • Who is it for?

    • Campers, hikers, artists, and anyone looking to breathe in Vermont’s quiet mountain air

    • Those who value simplicity, stewardship, and a community‑minded stay

Springs

As a remnant of our glacial past, our campground is flanked by the cold, clear mountain spring waters of Sunny Brook, and in places is cooled by cavernous underground tributaries, forming springs across the landscape.
